As an institution accredited by the State of South Carolina and NCATE, Anderson College is committed to providing its students with opportunities to become fully immersed in the State

ADEPT system of teacher evaluation. The ADEPT system is based on the following ten ADEPT Performance Standards (APS) grouped into four domains as follows:

Domain 1: Planning

1. Long Range Planning
2. Short Range Planning of Instruction
3. Planning Assessments and Using Data

Domain 2: Instruction

1. Establishing and Maintaining High Expectations for Learners.
2. Using Instructional Strategies to Facilitate Learning
3. Providing Content for Learners
4. Monitoring, Assessing, and Enhancing Learning

Domain 3: Environment

1. Maintaining an Environment that Promotes Learning
2. Managing the Classroom

Domain 4: Professionalism

1. Fulfilling Professional Responsibilities Beyond the Classroom

The opportunities provided include exposure to the underlining principles of all ten ADEPT PD’ s through course work and the opportunity to practice and refine the student’s performance on each PD through field-based experiences. Through conferencing and evaluation, supervisors provide students assistance in this development.
