DIRECTIONS TO SCHOOLS

Directions to Centerville Elementary

Leaving Anderson College, turn right on Boulevard. Cross Hwy 81 and continue until you get to the Anderson County Post Office/Ingles. Turn right on to Main Street. Stay on Main until you get to the CVS. Turn left at this intersection. You will stay on this road , go by Whitehall School, and continue on until you see the Hwy 28 intersection. Go through this traffic light. This is now Centerville Road. The school is a short distance on the left.

Directions to Belton Elementary

Leaving Anderson College, turn left onto Boulevard. At the light, turn right . Stay on this road until you get to Fant Street(this comes out beside the hospital. ) Turn left on Fant St. Go past the First Baptist Church and cross Market St., then turn left at the next light onto River St. This road eventually becomes Belton Hwy. Go towards Belton , pass Richard Campbell Veterans Home; continue on until you get almost into the town of Belton. You will see a Kentucky Fried Chicken on the left; on the right is the City Hall; turn right here onto Myrtle Street. This street will run directly into the school.

Directions to Belton Middle:

Turn left as you leave Anderson College onto Boulevard. Turn right at the light on Calhoun and continue to Fant St. Turn left on Fant St. and go past the First Baptist Church. At the 2 nd light, turn left onto River Street. Stay on this road toward Belton. When the double lanes end (about Jake’s Restaurant), turn right. Belton Middle School is down this road on the left(short distance).

Directions to Crescent High School

Turn right out of the college onto Boulevard. Turn left at the church onto Hwy. 81 and continue on this road until it dead ends into Murray Ave. Turn left. You will be on Hwy. 81 South. Continue on this road for several miles (approximately 20 minutes). Crescent High School is on the right—about 2-3 miles below Starr Elementary.

DIRECTIONS TO IVA ELEMENTARY

TURN RIGHT OUT OF THE COLLEGE ONTO BOULEVARD-GO TO TRAFFICE LIGHT-INTERSECTION OF 81/BOULEVARD. TURN LEFT AT BOULEVARD CHURCH. GO PAST THE HOSPITAL AND CROSS MAIN STREET. AT THE DEAD END TURN LEFT-YOU WILL BE ON HWY 81 SOUTH. STAY ON THIS ROAD FOR SEVERAL MILES-YOU WILL PASS FIBERGLAS AND CRESCENT HIGH SCHOOL .

WHEN YOU GET INTO THE TOWN OF IVA, YOU WILL SEE PEOPLE’S BANK—TURN LEFT PAST THE BANK-YOU WILL BE ON ANTREVILLE HWY, #184. STAY ON THIS ROAD ABOUT A MILE. THE SCHOOL WILL BE ON THE LEFT.

Directions to McLees Elementary School

Leaving Anderson College, turn onto Calhoun Street. Take Calhoun Street to Fant Street and turn left. Go past First Baptist Church and turn right on Market Street. Stay on Market for about 4 ½ miles(You will cross Main Street and Murray Avenue). Continue across Hwy. 28 and go about 4 ½ more miles. You will cross Michelin Boulevard. Market Street becomes Dobbin’s Bridge Road. Traveling on a short distance, you will see Harper’s meat on the left. About a mile past that, the school will be on the right.

Directions to Nevitt Forest Elementary

Leaving Anderson College, turn left on Boulevard. Go past the Fairgrounds. Continue on Hwy 29 North. You will pass the Anderson Independent Office and a Harley Davidson Shop. Turn right on Plantation Road. There will be a small sign there that says Nevitt Forest School. Stay on this road. Nevitt Forest will be on the left.

Directions to Pendleton Elementary:

Take Clemson Blvd. Toward Clemson. Pass Tri County Tech. You will come to a shopping center. There will be a BiLo on left and a Dairy queen. Turn (bear right) right at light. Go into town; 2 nd light make a right by the square onto Queens Street. Go maybe a mile or so, and the school is on the left. You will pass an old school , a recycling center and then the school will be on the left.

DIRECTIONS TO RIVERSIDE MIDDLE

Leaving Anderson College, turn right onto Boulevard. Go through the traffic light at the next intersection. You will still be on Blvd. Stay on this until it dead ends with Ingles on the right. Turn right. Continue past the Mall going toward Clemson. Stay on Clemson Blvd. Until you get to the turn off that a small sign says Pendleton-there will be a Dairy Queen on your left and a shopping center-and bear right toward Pendleton. IN Pendleton, there is on red light in town. Turn left at this red light. Go about 1 ½ miles; turn right at a sign that says Riverside Middle School; go one block and turn left. You will be at the school.

DIRECTIONS TO SOUTHWOOD MIDDLE

Turn right on Boulevard as you leave the college. At the first traffic light, turn left on to Greenville Street(Hwy. 81). Travel on this street , cross Fant, and Main. The next light will be the intersection of Murray Ave and Greenville Street. Turn left on Murray. Travel on this street, pass Whitner. At the next light,turn right on Market ST Go about a mile. You will see a sign on the left that says Southwood Street. There may be one that also says Hudgens Swim Center. Turn left on Southwood St. . At the 4 way stop is the intersection of Southwood Street and Franklin. The Westside Community Center will be on the right. Stay on Southwood Street and go to the top of the hill. The school will be on the right.

Directions to T. L. Hanna

Leaving Anderson College, turn onto Boulevard. AT the intersection of Boulevard and Hwy. 81, turn right at the light. Continue on Hwy. 81 north a few miles. The school is on the right after you pass Ingles.

Directions to Westside

Turn onto Boulevard. Cross Hwy. 81 and continue until you get to the Intersection of Main and Boulevard (at Ingles and the Post Office). Turn right on to Main. Go to Bojangles and turn left onto Glenwood Ave. Cross Murray Ave and continue on Glenwood until it deadends into Bleckley Street. Turn right and go a short distance to the traffic light. Turn left on Whitehall. Continue to Hwy. 28 or Pearman Dairy Rd. and turn left. Westside will be a short distance on the left.

Directions to Wren Middle and Wren High School

Take Hwy. 81 North for several miles and cross I-85. Go several miles and take a left at Roger’s Auto Parts at the intersection of Hwy. 8 and Hwy. 81. Stay on this road until you come to the intersection of Wren Road and Hwy. 81. There will be a gas station where you turn. Turn right at the traffic light. Wren High School is ½ mile on the right and Wren Middle is ½ mile on the left.

Marshall Primary

Leaving the college, turn left and go past the fairgrounds, the Anderson Independent Mail and continue on through the islands. You will now be on 29 North. Pass Eureka Church. Continue on and after you pass the Texaco station on the right there will be a road called Short Cut Road that bears off to the right (take this). If you miss this road, take the next right, Broadway School Road. Short Cut runs into Broadway School Road. Go several miles until you come to a 4 way stop (Fulbright’s Crossing). Turn right onto Brezeale Road. Stay on this until you see “Specks” convenience store/restaurant. Go past Church Street and then turn right onto Bannister Street. The school will be on the left.

Alternate directions:

Take Calhoun Street to Fant Street and turn left. Go past First Baptist Church and turn left onto River Street. This becomes Belton Hwy. Continue until you get almost into Belton. You will pass Maynard’s furniture store and a subway. At the subway, turn left beside it, then turn immediately back to the left over the railroad tracks, then right. You will be on Bannister Street.

Pelzer Elementary

From Anderson College, take Hwy. 29. Continue past the flea market/jockey lot and bear to the right on Hwy 20 where the road splits. Go through the town of Williamston and when you see a BiLo on the right, turn right at the light and then the BiLo will be on your left. This is Lebby Street. The school is about a block on the left past BiLo.

Starr Elementary

Leaving AC, turn left onto Greenville Street (Hwy 81). Go past the hospital and continue on across Main Street. Turn left onto Murray or Hwy. 81 South. Continue on this road for several miles. You will see Owens Corning Factory on the left. About 5miles past this, the school will be on the right. There has been a new road cut that parallels 81 south. This is Brown Lane. Bear right (or turn right-I am not sure which) and the school is on the right. If you get as far as Crescent High on 81 south, you have gone too far.

Wright Elementary School

Turning left out of the college, go past the fairgrounds. Continue on this road and pass the Anderson Independent Mail. Go through the islands. You will now be on Hwy. 29 North. Continue on and then you will see Eureka Baptist Church. Turn right beside the church. Continue on this road until you get to Belton Hwy. Cross the hwy and turn left at the stop sign. You will be on Hwy. 252. Go about 4 or 5 miles to a 4 way stop sign. This is where 413 intersects. Turn right here. Go several miles to another stop sign. You will see Ebenezer Fire Dept. Turn left here. Go about 4 miles and around a curve. You will see a “children crossing sign” and a sign that says “ Wright Elementary School. Turn right and you will see the school.

Alternate directions: Turn right onto Calhoun Street. Cross Boulevard and continue until you get to Fant Street. Turn left on Fant Street. After you pass First Baptist Church, at the next light, you will turn left onto River Street, which is also the road to Belton. This becomes Belton Hwy. Go several miles until you see a sign that says 252/Honea Path. Bear off right. Once you get on 252, follow the directions above.

Concord Elementary

Turn onto Boulevard and cross Hwy 81 at the light. AT the next traffic light, turn right onto Lindale. Continue to the next traffic light and cross Bellview. AT the 4 way stop, turn left onto Millgate. Millgate will cross Concord Ave. Shortly after you cross Concord Ave., the school will be on the right. Go on past the playground and turn right onto the road between the apartments and the playground area. The entrance to the school will be on the right at the end of this road.

Directions to Belton/ Honea Path High School

Go out of the college and turn left onto Boulevard/Hwy.29. Continue on toward the fairgrounds and go pass the Anderson Independent. When you see Eureka Church, turn right. Continue on this road until you reach the Anderson-Belton Highway and turn left toward Belton. Pass Hwy 413, then a house, then a trailer, then Burriss’ dentist’s office and turn right onto Pinetop before you get to Clinkscales Chevrolet. If you get to the Chevrolet place, you have gone too far. Continue on this road and go through the 4 way stop. When you come to a yield sign, bear right and you will come straight to the school on this road.

Alternate Directions: After you get on the Anderson/Belton Highway(above), continue through Belton toward Honea Path. The school is on this road. This is not as many turns as the previous one, but a little longer.

Directions to Cedar Grove Elementary

Leaving Anderson College by the guard house, turn left onto Boulevard. Stay on this road, go past the fair grounds; continue on until you actually merge with Hwy 29 North. Stay on this road until you see the Anderson Jockey Lot. There will be a traffic light at the end of the jockey lot. Turn right onto Cheddar. Continue until you come to a Stop sign. Turn left. This will be Hwy. 20(it may not be marked.). About the 2 nd road on the right, turn right onto Melvin Lane. The school is on this road.

Directions to Homeland Park Elementary

Leaving the college, turn right on Boulevard and left on HWY. 81 (Greenville St.). Go toward “town.” Turn left on Main St. Go about 4 miles through town and cross Shockley Ferry Road. There will be a Burger King on the right. At the next light past BiLo, Turn right. Davis Produce will be on your left. Then turn left between the produce stand and CVS. Go about .9 mile, pass a fire station, and you will see a sign in front of a church that says the name of the school. Turn left and stay on this road— Wilmont Road—this goes in front of the school.

Directions to McCants Middle

Leaving Anderson College, turn left onto Calhoun Street. Continue on this street until you come to a stop sign. Turn left onto Marchbanks Avenue. McCants is a short distance on the left.

Directions to Midway Elementary:

Leaving Anderson College turn left on Calhoun Street. Continue on Calhoun St. and go through the 4 way stop signs (after stopping). Go past Calhoun School and then pass through another 4 way intersection. Continue on this road until you see Silverleaf Subdivision on the right. Directly across from the subdivision sign, you will see a road sign for Harriett Circle. Turn left. Continue around this road. You will hit another 4 way intersection go straight through and Midway will be on the left. If you miss this turn, you can continue on until you reach Midway Presbyterian Church and take a hard left at the church onto Midway Road. The school will be on the right.

Directions to New Prospect Elementary

Leaving Anderson College, turn onto Calhoun Street. Take Calhoun Street all the way to Fant Street. Turn left. Go to Whitner Street (the second light at bottom of hill across from Meals on Wheels-before you get to the church) and turn right onto Whitner. This street will cross Main Street and Murray Ave (or Hwy. 81). Continue on this street several miles. You will cross Hwy. 28. Whitner becomes Hwy. 24 at this point. Continue on this road and go through one traffic light. At the next light, turn right onto New Prospect Road. (J.T.’s country rock will be on the right and there is a service station on the left as you turn). Go a short distance on New Prospect Road and the school will be on the right.

Directions to Powdersville Elementary and Powersville Middle Schools

Take 81 North to I-85. Travel to Exit 40, which is Hwy. 153. Go to the 3 rd traffic light and turn right. This is Hood Road. There is a People’s Bank on the corner. Both schools are on the left on this road. Powdersville Middle is the first on the left and the elementary is the 2 nd one on the left.

DIRECTIONS TO RIVERSIDE MIDDLE SCHOOL

TRAVEL NORTH ON CLEMSON BOULEVARD, GO PAST THE MALL, AND STAY ON THIS HIGHWAY UNTIL YOU GET ALMOST TO PENDLETON. YOU WILL PASS TRI-COUNTY TECH. SHORTLY AFTER THAT , YOU WILL SEE A SHOPPING CENTER ON THE LEFT. THERE WILL BE A DAIRY QUEEN AND A BILO. BEAR RIGHT AT THE TRAFFIC LIGHT INTO PENDLETON.

GO TO THE 2 ND TRAFFIC LIGHT, WHICH WILL BE IN TOWN. TURN LEFT. TAKE THE 3 RD RIGHT, WHICH WILL BE WINSTON STREET. THE NEXT LEFT IS RIVERSIDE STREET. TAKE THIS LEFT TURN AND THIS STREET WILL DEAD END INTO THE SCHOOL.

Directions to Spearman Primary

Leaving Anderson College, turn left onto Boulevard. Turn right onto Calhoun Street. Turn left onto Fant Street and continue on this road; go past First Baptist Church and turn left at the next light, which will be Belton Hwy. (Hwy 76). Continue on this road to Belton. When the road narrows from 4 lane to 2 lane, you will go about ½ mile. You will pass Maynards Furniture Store and when you see the Subway on the left, you can turn by the Subway. If you miss this turn, turn the next left. Go over the railroad tracks and you turn left onto Blue Ridge Avenue. Depending on which road you took, it will either be the next road to the right or the second road to the right (Bannister). There will be a little green sign that says Marshall Primary. The school is on this road. You will basically be making a U directionally. The school is behind the Subway, but on Bannister Road.

Directions to Varennes Elementary

Leaving Anderson College, turn right on Boulevard. Go to traffic light and turn left on Greenville St.(Hwy. 81). Pass the hospital and cross over Main St. Next intersection is Hwy 81 South or Murray Ave. Turn left. Go several blocks until you come to the intersection of HWY. 29 South. Turn right. Stay on this road. You will cross Hwy. 28 by pass and go about another mile and Varennes will be on the hill on the right.

Directions to Whitehall Elementary

Leaving Anderson College, turn right onto Boulevard. Continue on Boulevard until you get to the intersection of Boulevard and Main. ( Ingles/ Post Office will be on your right.)

Continue on Main until you get to the intersection where CVS is on the right. Turn left and go through the next light. The street changes to Whitehall here. The school is a short distance on the right.

Take a right out of AC onto Blvd. Cross Hwy. 81 or Greenville Street.  Turn right at the stoplight that is at the intersection and Main St. The post office /Ingles will be on your right. Travel a short distance. At the intersection by the CVS and Walgreens, turn left.

Stay on this road until you get to HWY 28 bypass or Pearman Dairy Rd. Turn left at this intersection. Travel on this road and go past Westside High School and the district office. Lakeside will be on the right shortly past the Anderson 5 district office building (which is on the left).

Alternate directions:

Turn right out of AC onto Blvd. Turn left onto Greenville St or Hw1 81. Stay on this until it deadends and turn left onto Murray Ave, which is also 81 south.  Go a short distance and turn right onto Whitner St. This is right before you get to the courthouse on the left.   Stay on Whitner Street until you come to the intersection of Hyw 28 or Pearman Dairy Rd. Turn right. The school will be on your left.

Palmetto Elementary

Leaving Anderson College, turn left onto Calhoun Street. Stay on this street for about 8 miles. You will go through stop signs, etc. This road eventually becomes Midway Road. Stay on Midway until you get to the end where you have to turn right or left. This will be highway 8. Turn right toward Pelzer. Cross Hwy. 29. Shortly after this, before you get into town, there will be a sign that says Palmetto High School, home of the Mustangs. Turn right. You will go a short distance and see the high school on the left. After you pass the high school, turn left. Palmetto Elementary will be on the left.

Alternate Directions:

Leaving Anderson College, turn left and go past the fairgrounds. Continue on this road and go through some islands . You will now be on Hwy. 29 North. Continue on this road and take the exit to Williamston. There will be a sign to bear right to Williamston. Go through Williamston and turn left at a traffic light onto Hamilton Street. Go past the district office and turn right before you get to the high school. You can see the elementary school on the right before you turn. When you turn, the school will be on your left.

Pickens Middle School:

Leaving Anderson College, turn right onto Boulevard. Cross over Hwy. 81 and continue until you pass Ingles. Turn right onto Main Street. This eventually becomes Clemson Blvd. Go past the mall and continue on past Ruby Tuesdays. Bear right onto Hwy. 178 at the traffic light. Stay on 178 all the way into Pickens. (You will go through a “Y” in the road-bear left). You will go through Liberty before you get into Pickens. 178 dead ends at Pickens’ Main Street. Turn left and then back right. You will still be on 178. Go past an Ingles shopping center. Then at the Pizza Inn, turn right onto Sparks Ave.. There will be a traffic light there, too. The school is the 2 nd school on the left on Sparks Ave.

Starr Iva Middle School

Leaving AC, turn left onto Greenville Street (Hwy 81). Go past the hospital and continue on across Main Street. Turn left onto Murray or Hwy. 81 South. Continue on this road for several miles. You will see Owens Corning Factory on the left. About 5 miles past this, the school will be on the right. There has been a new road cut that parallels 81 south. This is Brown Lane. Bear right (or turn right-I am not sure which) and the school is on the right. After you pass this school, take the first right. Go down this road to Rainey Road, Highway 412. Turn right. Stay on this road for about 2-3 miles. Starr Iva Middle will be on this road.

If you get as far as Crescent High on 81 South, you have gone too far.
