Revised 7/29/05

Thank you for considering a graduate degree at Anderson College. In this webpage you will find a description of our master’s program. The Bulletin also contains important academic regulations, degree requirements, Anderson College policies, and other information to help in your decision regarding the graduate program in education at Anderson College.

There has been a demand for all public school teachers to up-grade their teaching credentials and become more highly qualified to teach under the No Child Left Behind Act. With a strong undergraduate teacher education program already in place, Anderson College continues to support the goal of providing more highly qualified teachers in the classroom by offering a Master of Education degree that will focus on school instruction to enhance teaching methods and techniques. The need for Anderson College to provide a graduate program meeting the needs of public school teachers is evident from the overwhelming support from the local Anderson area community.

The Division Head of Education and Kinesiology, Graduate and undergraduate studies is the chief administrative officer of the graduate program and takes general responsibility for the development, improvement, and administration of the graduate study at Anderson College. All matters of policy, procedures, and graduate curriculum are developed, approved, and implemented in consultation with the Academic Dean of Anderson College.

The first graduate school class at Anderson College is scheduled to begin in January, 2006. Interested persons should complete a graduate school application and send to Graduate School Admissions,Division of Education and Kinesiology, Graduate and Undergraduate Studies, Anderson College, 316 Boulevard, Anderson, SC 29621.

If you have questions about any aspect of the graduate program, I invite you to call the Division of Education Office, Graduate and Undergraduate Studies at (864) 231-2143.
