Time Commitment
ACCEL classes are held on Monday and Thursday evenings for approximately eight weeks. Classes meet at either 5:30 PM or 7:50 PM. Students may register for two classes per term or one class per term. There are five terms each year. A full-time student may earn up to 30 semester hours in a year. To graduate, students must have earned a minimum of 120 semester hours.

Costs, Financial aid, and Tax Credits
Anderson University offers a tuition discount for all full-time equivalent students in the Adult Accelerated Degree program. Full-time tuition for this program is $9,300. Tuition for students in the accelerated program who receive no financial aid is $310 per credit hour after discount.

Financial aid deadlines are important. All students should apply for a South Carolina Tuition Grant. These grants are awarded to qualifying state residents attending South Carolina private colleges. There is a June 30 deadline for this grant. Students may also be eligible for Federal Pell Grants which are based on financial need. Students can apply for the South Carolina Tuition Grant and Pell Grant through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Many companies have employee tuition-reimbursement programs. Students who will be reimbursed by their employer may make arrangements to delay billing of tuition costs.

Because of recent changes in the federal tax code, many adult students will be eligible for a Lifetime Learning tax credit for out-of-pocket expenses. Your tax preparer will have details, or you may contact our Financial Aid Planning Office for information.
