ACCEL Application Process

1. Attend an Open House session (optional)

  • Open House allows you to meet the ACCEL staff and receive information on the degree programs. The $25 application fee is waived by attending the open house.

2. Complete an Application

(Apply online or request an application packet from the Office of Evening Admissions and Financial Aid.)
  • Submit an application to Evening Admissions, Anderson University with $25 application fee.

3. First time college students must supply proof of high school graduation or GED.

  • You may send a photocopy of your high school diploma or submit a copy of your high school transcript. GED applicants must submit a copy of their GED scores. GED score must be at least 250.

4. Transfer students must submit all college transcripts.

  • Transcripts will be reviewed by the Registrar for possible transfer credit.

5. Special Circumstance Application.

  • Students with a cumulative GPA less than 2.0 on previous college transcripts must complete an additional application and have a committee review their application.

6. Writing Placement.

  • Students who have not successfully completed English Composition at the college level or first time college students will be asked to demonstrate acceptable skills in English on a writing placement exam.

7. Acceptance.

  • All freshman, transfer, and former Anderson University students who are new to the ACCEL program are required to attend New Student Orientation.

8. Advising.

  • Upon acceptance to the ACCEL program, each student is assigned a faculty advisor to assist in identifying appropriate courses every semester and to serve as a mentor and advocate as your progress to graduation.

9. Financial Aid.

  • To begin classes with no delays, you must complete all arrangements with the Office of Evening Admissions and Financial Aid and Anderson Central prior to the first day of classes.

10. Veterans.

  • Applicants that qualify for VA benefits should contact the Registrar's office for financial information.
