There has been a demand for all public school teachers to up-grade their teaching credentials and become more highly qualified to teach under the No Child Left Behind Act. With a strong undergraduate teacher education program already in place, Anderson University continues to support the goal of providing more highly qualified teachers in the classroom by offering a Master of Education degree that will focus on school instruction to enhance teaching methods and techniques. The need for Anderson University to provide a graduate program meeting the needs of public school teachers is evident from the overwhelming support from the local Anderson area community.

The Division Head of Education and Kinesiology, Graduate and undergraduate studies is the chief administrative officer of the graduate program and takes general responsibility for the development, improvement, and administration of the graduate study at Anderson University. All matters of policy, procedures, and graduate curriculum are developed, approved, and implemented in consultation with the Academic Dean of Anderson University.

The first graduate school class at Anderson University is scheduled to begin in January, 2006. Interested persons should complete a graduate school application and send to Graduate School Admissions,Division of Education and Kinesiology, Graduate and Undergraduate Studies, Anderson University, 316 Boulevard, Anderson, SC 29621.
