As students progress through the college years, they development their own styles for taking notes. In each course, students become familiar with the professor’s style of lecturing or conducting class, and come to know their methods of organization and delivery. Through the first round of tests in every semester, students also learn what study methods work well and which ones do not.
This brief seminar will help you as a student to learn what constitutes good lecture notes, how to take notes using the Cornell System for note-taking and study, how to find the main ideas in lectures, and a few ideas for taking notes on textbook readings.
From understanding and using these skills, I hope that your college success is enhanced and that you develop into the outstanding student you wish to become.
