Randy Greer - Head Coach

After serving as an assistant coach for two years, Greer was named head coach of the men’s and women’s cross country and track and field teams at Anderson University in July 2006.

In '08, Greer led both cross country teams to two victories. The AU women finished second and the AU men finished third in the Conference Carolinas meet. Anderson's Jennifer Hitt won her fourth straight Conference Carolinas individual title and Ashley McClellion earned Freshman of the Year honors.

In his first year in charge of both programs, Greer led both the women's and men's teams to CVAC titles and received two CVAC Coach of the Year awards.

Greer, a native of Eubank, Ky., earned a B.S. in physical education from Cumberland College in Williamsburg, Ky., in '00.

Greer joined the Anderson coaching staff in the fall of ’04. He has been involved with all aspects of the program. He has helped qualify two female runners for the NCAA Division II cross country meet, and in the spring of ’06, he helped coach men’s and women’s track teams that rewrote the Anderson record book.

Greer started his coaching career as a volunteer assistant cross country coach at Cumberland in the fall of ’00.

In the spring of ’01, Greer was named assistant track coach at Whitley County High School in Williamsburg, Ky. At Whitley, he worked with both teams and helped coach six athletes to the state championship meet.

In the fall of ’01, Greer returned to Cumberland as a graduate assistant for the cross country and track teams. He coached the jumpers, pole vaulters, and throwers during the indoor and outdoor seasons. During his time at Cumberland, the men’s team finished eighth in the NAIA national cross country meet and several Cumberland athletes won individual national titles and earned All-American status.

Greer left Cumberland again in the fall of ’03 to join the cross country and track staff at Pulaski County High School in Somerset, Ky. He helped lead the Pulaski boys’ and girls’ teams to regional championships and both teams qualified for the state meet. Greer also helped lead the Pulaski boys’ track and field team to a regional championship.
