10/02/2009 - Softball Earns Academic RecognitionANDERSON, S.C. -- The National Fastpitch Coaches Association has announced the "girls got game" Top Ten All-Academic Teams, based on GPAs submitted for the 2008-09 school year and the Anderson softball team checked in at No. 9 nationally, as released by the NFCA earlier this week.
Through the program, the NFCA honors high school and collegiate softball teams for their success in the classroom.
“I am obviously extremely proud of the players’ hard work in the classroom,” said Anderson head coach Tommy Hewitt. “It’s a confirmation to the parents and future recruits that we are serious about academics as well as softball. It’s also an individual commitment by each player to the team. That’s what makes a team.”
