04/05/2009 - LADY TROJANS DROP CONFERENCE MATCH AT MT OLIVE


The Lady Trojan tennis team goes on the road Monday, in a week that starts with 3 matches in 3 days
MOUNT OLIVE, NC--After traveling to Barton on Friday and clinching a conference tournament berth with an 8-1 win, the Anderson University Lady Trojan tennis team went to Mount Olive and loss 6-3 in a competitive league battle.

Sophomore Laura Gorman and freshman Shelby Anderson won their doubles event to keep the match within reach at 2-1, but the AU women could only muster 2 more wins in singles competition for the loss.

The Lady Trojans have plenty of play as they tune-up for the Conference Carolinas tournament. The rainy spring that surrounded the students' spring break has made for fast finish for the team as they will play 3 matches in the next 5 days. AU begins the week on the road at Tusculum College on Monday at 4:00pm.



Mount Olive returns to action Sunday when the Trojans take on Pfeiffer in a Conference Carolinas match up. Match time is 1 p.m. at Walker Tennis Center.
