11/24/2009 - Lancaster Adds All-Region First Team HonorANDERSON, S.C. -- Adding to her success both on and off the court this season, Anderson's Jamie Lancaster has been named to the 2009 Daktronics NCAA Division II All-Southeast Region Volleyball first team as announced by Daktronics, Inc. and the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) earlier today. First-team selections advance to the national ballot for possible All-America honors.
Just yesterday it was announced that Lancaster has also been named to the 2009 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Volleyball Second Team, as selected by CoSIDA.
Lancaster earned first-team all-conference honors after leading the conference and ranking eighth nationally in kills per set (4.35), and recorded match highs in 21 contests. She was named conference Player of the Week three times during the season and was also named to the league’s all-tournament team as well as being named to the Wingate Classic All-Tournament team.
The Daktronics NCAA DII teams are voted on by the sports information directors and the Southeast Region is comprised of schools from Conference Carolinas, the South Atlantic Conference and the Peach Belt Conference.
